I FOUND THE PARENTS!

So a couple weeks ago I asked where all the parents in America went. So I looked on the internet to see if I could find them. These are the best I could come up with...

 Exhibit 1...

Taking one for the team...

These parents have obviously that selling their boy for meat was the right way to stem the slaughter in the Westfold. CLEARLY these parents are insane to think that a meal a paltry as this child would be adequate. It would take all the parents in Illinois giving up their children to stop the fighting!

Exhibit 2...

Worst mom WEST of Ohio...

I often allow my bottle feeding to suck on a 9mm pistol (They love the taste of steel between their lips). HAHAHA, I'm just going to sit here and laugh about this. REALLY!!?? Not to mention the idiot taking the picture. Put down the camera, pick up the baby and LEAVE!!

Exhibit C...

They're "really good eaters"...

That doesn't mean you let them eat the menu at McD's EVERY TIME you hit the drive through.  Honestly, these kids weigh more than my Jeep. It's not their fault their parents never said no.

Exhibit 3... is a link to a story about a parent so good they didn't need to parent any more and decided to give the kid BACK!! I was not aware this was legal in most states (does California still count).

Exhibit 4...

Worst Mom and Dad EAST of Ohio. Need I say more??

I found the parents and they are not what I thought I would find. This is all tempered with the thought that there have to be great parents out there (me and Tawna happen to think we're "decent"). If there wasn't there would be more EMO kids out there, and every parent would be on the cover of People magazine.

So to finish this one off, I decided to go to a TRUE parenting expert.

Hidden Faith…

Came across this article today, and decided I needed to answer the questions. While doing so, it prompted me to post again. As usual some of my answers are sarcastic, but most of them are simply designed to make me think. If they make you think too, let me know. I’d like to hear what you have to say.

1. Hastings recognizes clubs that center on beliefs as diverse as Judaism, feminism, gay and animal rights. Why the undue calling out of a Christian group?  Who cares, they’re not going to blow us up if we don’t allow them to express or follow their beliefs.

2. Although Hastings bases its argument on discrimination against homosexuals, no avowed homosexual ever sought acceptance into the C.L.S. at Hastings. Why the contrived argument? Contrived arguments are better than anything else. There is no way to disprove something that never happened.

3. What happened to First Amendment Rights?  Christians do not have those when demonstrating or applying their faith.

4. Are we ready for White Supremacists being given the right to be officers of the Black Law Student Association for fear that any other action would constitute discrimination? It is not possible to discriminate against “White people” in America, unless you are a politician up for re-election as a Liberal.

5. Why are we not highlighting the outstanding contributions to community and society by faith-based clubs across America? There are faith-based clubs in America? Hm, who knew?!

6. If people of faith are tolerant of clubs that adhere to beliefs that are contrary to their convictions, why is the adverse not true? It’s just not right to assume that the tolerance expected/demanded by the ACLU, NAACP, GLAAD and other similar groups be applied to a group of people that has “held down” and “persecuted” others since the big bang.

7. Is it possible that the true discrimination in this case is against those who practice their faith in an increasingly secular society? No way (see answer to 6)

8. Have we become so politically correct that we no longer feel comfortable being biblically correct? Yes, the bible is an excellent work of fiction designed by it’s authors as a “road map” for people who are too weak to rely on their own efforts.

9. Should people be given second-class citizenship based on their beliefs? Only if they’re too weak to live without the “crutch” of Jesus’ sacrifice for them.

10. Are we on the verge of outlawing groups in America solely on the basis that we disagree with their views? Doesn’t that already happen? There are very few if ANY Christian student organizations out there in the American public. There are however junior GLAAD chapters, NAACP youth groups  all sponsored and endorsed by school districts. There are no Young Gideons, junior Promise Keepers (or any other young versions of the “grown up” clubs that Christians participate in) sponsored by these same schools. Why is that? Fear of alienating the liberal public that keeps the school officials in office. Fear of exclusionary lawsuits from the 3 Muslim families that have children in the school. Fear that the “Billy’s” two moms will go to their liberal GLAAD elected congressman for him/her to deal with their problems.

Call me crazy, but it seems that the most discriminated against are the Christians. There are many reasons why, and all of them stem from one issue. Leadership. When your leadership doesn’t stand up for you, when you can’t stand for yourself, you lose. “Their” leadership will ALWAYS stand up for them, RIGHT OR WRONG, and that’s why we always hear about “their” problems and issues. There is always a lawyer out there willing to highlight the injustices that have been wracked upon the “little guy”. All of these groups have centralized leadership. Christians do not. There are so many different sects and groups of Christians I can’t keep them straight. We’re too busy arguing over which version of the Bible is most accurate to handle anything else. Seethe story below to highlight this point:

"I was walking on the Golden Gate bridge one day when I saw a man about to jump. I called out to him in order to distract him  and said 'Are you a Christian or a Jew?' He said 'Christian.' I said 'Me too! Protestant or Catholic?' He said 'Protestant.' I said 'Me too! What franchise?' He said 'Baptist.' I said 'Me too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?' He said 'Northern Baptist.' I said 'Me too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Reform Baptist?' He said 'Northern Conservative Baptist.' I said 'Me too! Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist or Northern Conservative Reform Baptist?' He said 'Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist.' I said 'Me too! Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region or Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Eastern Region?' He said 'Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region.' I said 'Me too! Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912 or Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region of 1850?' He said 'Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912.'

I said 'Die heretic!' And I pushed him off the bridge!"

Christians in America have no centralized leadership. I’m not talking about a Pope, or a Prophet or anything like that. I’m talking about a centralized group of Christian leaders that can help GUIDE the Christian populace in America. We don’t see eye to eye on most topics between churches except that Jesus Christ died for our sin, but shouldn’t that be enough to at least defend each other? We should band together as CHRISTIANS and show the rest of the country that our beliefs and values CANNOT be compromised for the sake of others feelings. I don’t care if someone gets offended by my choice to believe in what the Bible says, just like they don’t care if I’m offended by their choice of lifestyle (it IS a choice).

Do you and your family pray for dinner when you go out to eat? Do you give counsel from the bible when asked by a non-believer? Or do we hide our faith inside of house and place of worship? If we don’t display our faith at all times regardless of whom might be offended, our faith is hidden from the world. Does that achieve His results? Are we living for Him? Is it because we’re ashamed, or afraid of what others might say?

When Christians as a whole can answer these questions (among other similar ones) with a loud and boisterous “I AM NOT ASHAMED”, we will progress towards keeping and utilizing the rights we’ve been given by our GOD-FEARING founding fathers. They all worshipped and praised openly! That’s why they all ended up coming here. Why shouldn’t we do the same for our families and future Christians?
No movie quotes to finish this time. Take time to answer these questions for yourself. I know I need to for myself and my family.

P.S. Let me know what you think about this post (or don’t), I’m starting to think I’m typing to hear my own thoughts. BOO!!!

Where are the parents in America...

 So...

I apologize to ALL my loyal readers. I know the masses have waiting on the edges of their seats in anticipation of the next sliver of greatness to seep from my mind into the never ending wonder that is Al Gores' Web (see Milk, Bread Eggs for explanation). I'm sorry I'll stop talking about my genius to get to the topic of the day.

Drug Problems

I can honestly say that I'm tired of hearing about drug problems. I can honestly tell you that I don't think the world will stop turning because the last Oscar winner went to rehab for an addiction to Krispy Kremes (they ARE addicting), or whatever is going on in Hollywood these days.

What really gets me are the childhood stars that fade into nothingness until they die from a drug overdose, or one of their own does likewise. Take for example Corey Haim.

He spent all of his formative young years (10-20) in front of a camera. now here in 2010 he dies from a drug overdose. All too common in people who gain fame at an early age and then struggle in later life to achieve that same level. Why you ask do they struggle? Too EASY!! A few quick answers:

a) They aren't cute any more
b) They were never talented in the first place (see a)
c) Their parents stole all their money and they suffer from PTSD
d) They were introduced to drugs by some "nefarious" character intent on ruining their budding career (see a thru c)

This all comes down to the PARENTS. Where were they for Corey Haim during his problems as a teenager? Where were they after the fact to help him with recovery multiple times? No one is perfect and we all make mistakes,  but when are these people going to realize there was a failure at a crucial moment when his parents let him down?

Allow me to interrupt myself, I know that people do at some point need to be responsible for their own actions. BUT the parents are still responsible in the years I'm talking about.

Needless to say he went on a downward spiral until it ultimately led to his death.

My Drug Problem...

I know right now you're thinking  "he doesn't seem the type", well you'd be right. TECHNICALLY, but please read the following article...

http://www.team-22.org/articles/article_20080200a.pdf

For those of you who didn't read it, it talks about how there was a generation of youth in America that had the problem of being DRUG to all sorts of places by their parents to serve others, to be held responsible for their actions, and to help them become better people. I like to think that I was a part of that. I remember going to peoples houses to clean up yards, cut firewood, put up fences and all other sorts of horrible "forced labor". I was never compensated for my time outside of the fact that looking back I see what my parents were trying to do, and how it really does BUILD CHARACTER. This is a drug problem that NEEDS to be instilled in our youth today. I'm trying to do this with my children, and I'm lucky enough to have children who don't act like I did when drug all over the place.

So to get to the title, where are the parents in America? Are we guiding our children, or are we letting them be influenced by the "nefarious" characters that we know don't have our childrens' best interests at heart? Are we making sure their Drug Problem is the former or the latter?

SO to keep the streak alive...

The Homeschool Matrix

Homeschool

Some people wonder why we do it. Some people wonder how Tawna keeps her sanity without a "break" from the kids during the week. The general public never ceases to amaze me with it's level of moral depravity. I pose that it should be the homeschooling families asking public schoolers why they continue to allow other people take responsibility for their children. There are thousands of cases where teachers have over stepped their bounds with someone elses child.

For example....

There was a teacher in California (which as we know is the moral center of this country), who taught English and Social Sciences. This obviously moral and upright person (all "highly educated" people are) was having a somewhat recreational relationship with one of her students. This was not a Berkeley professor (surprisingly), it wasn't even a high school teacher (as you would expect). This 33 year old "educator" was having a physical relationship with a 14 year old MIDDLE SCHOOL student. The principal goes on record as saying "She is a great teacher, and this was a big surprise". I'm surprised only by the fact that they didn't add "Phys Ed" as one of her classes. There will be some long drawn out explanation as to why she continued it. She was molested as a child, mommy and daddy didn't love her, whatever. I'm sure that the BOY was a VERY mature 14. He was WAAAY past his Hannah Montana crush, his comic books and baseball cards. He was prepped and ready for his portfolio to take off and set his nest egg for the rest of his life. He had one paid off mortgage and another property the rent on the first one was paid for. NOT TO MENTION that he was fully prepared emotionally to handle all the garbage that comes with a physical relationship.

Seriously, there are 30 year old MEN out there that aren't ready for a physical relationship. There is nothing that anyone can say that would justify what happened. how ludicrous.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,588707,00.html

ANYWAYS...

Why in the world would I risk the possibility of this happening to my sons or daughter? I know for a fact that this will not happen in my house. I also know exactly what my kids are learning, who they're learning it from, and how well they learn it. This is one of the many reasons we keep our kids at home for school. There are so many reasons to NOT put your kids in public school, and only to do it. needing a break from them before you go crazy? How fair is that to your kids that you are gifted with? Think about that.

"I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of homeschoolers. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a school without bells. A school without classes and desks, without buses or boredom.  A school where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you."

Talk about a double standard…

The View is on ABC. PTI (Pardon The Interruption) is on ESPN. Both networks fall under the ABC family of networks. This knowledge helps highlight exactly how ludicrous the following actions are.

PART ONE…

Tony Kornheiser was suspended from appearing on HIS show PTI for two weeks due to criticism towards Hannah Storms fashion sense. I’m no expert, but I’m going to put a picture in and you can judge for yourself (personally I think he was right on)…

Criticizing someone’s fashion should not be a suspensionable offense, Even if ESPN has a policy of not being critical inside the network. Tony Kornheiser is a critical person, this is why they pay him to be on TV in the first place. To criticize and analyze what sports people do. He just happened to do it to a fellow ESPN personality instead of the latest drug fueled football player. GET OVER IT! Maybe he went to far in his comments, maybe he didn’t two week suspension from the show? Not so much, maybe an on air apology for something that most people never even heard (he produced said criticism on his Washington D.C. radio show), would have been better. Who knows; too late now?

PART TWO…

There has been some talk recently about how men that go on The View are talked to in a certain way. Let’s be honest, I’ve probably seen the show a couple times, and didn’t really pay attention to it then either. The hosts of the show are given credibility by the simple fact that “Barbara Walters” is on the show (yes I put her name in quotes because it’s like talking about Michael with Basketball, Tiger with golf, or Sampras with tennis). Who had ever heard of anyone else on the show before this show started? Not many.

That being said, when young(ish) male stars come on the show they are spoken to, and questioned, about VERY personal things. Robert Pattison (Harry Potter, and Twilight) was recently asked about his… um… package and why he decided to cover it while doing a “physical scene” in a new movie.

REALLY?!

Let me think, maybe because it’s not appropriate to go waving your privates around for everyone to see? Regardless of his reason, who are these OLD LADIES (sorry Hasselbeck)to talk about this stuff? I wouldn’t even sit there and listen to my mom talk about this stuff (some things just aren’t right), let alone Barbara Walters (no quotes for this one) who is 80 something years old! No-one would ever accuse Joy Behar of being classy, or Whoopi Goldberg of being soft spoken, but does that mean they should be able to talk to/about their “guests” like that? When is ABC going to ask for a suspension, or an apology? What would happen if David Letterman started asking Megan Fox about why she doesn't display her privates in her next movie? What if Jay Leno asked Miley Cyrus when she was going to pose for a mens magazine? Pick a guy on TV, insert a young females name from show business and imagine the reaction! It would be outrageous and the people who would be saying the most/loudest would probably be, wait for it…

THESE “LADIES” ON THE VIEW! Why is it different for men then women? Should it be? I think that it's ridiculous that not only is it acceptable for these ladies to get away this. All the guys (that don't wear pink shirts) should march on their studio and kick them out. Then we can hijack their broadcast and talk about guns and cars for an hour! That would be a much more productive use of time than what they're currently doing. Or is it that all the women who watch The View are so in need of living vicariously through them that we would be the bad guys, and considered chauvinists because we don't appreciate the female point of "View"? In the end does it really matter what words the talking heads on TV are spouting, or what his "motivation" is for being naked in a movie? I don't think so. What about you?

I’d like to end with Ben Steins’ most famous words,

“Hate dry eyes? Get clear eyes, with Visine.” Not what you expected?

Sorry, “Bueller…Bueller?” Is that better?

Will science ever prove...part 2

On a follow up to my scientificish post of a yesterday,  there have been some new findings in regard to "climate change".

The dude who started the Weather Channel did some research, and found that there was a direct relationship between the rising average temperature and fewer temperatures being taken. Allow me to apply my dazzling intellect to this statement.

If you try to measure the average yearly temperature at your house, but only take one sample you will have a less accurate reading. Go figure. Measure it twice, and it will be an average and change. Every time you add another sample to a set, you improve the accuracy of that set. So likewise, if you take fewer samples it will be less accurate.

The study shows that starting in 1990 monitoring stations around the world were shutdown, from 6000 to 1500 stations around the world. It's no surprise that the temperature is less accurate than before, and the global increase coincided with this shut down of stations. The real kicker to this study is the location of the stations that were shutdown. They were all in statistically lower temperature reading areas!

Did  they think it wouldn't affect the readings, or did they (NOAA, no relation to the ark builder) do it on purpose knowing that it would increase the average temperature around the globe? it's all very shady and questionable. If you ever start to question whether or not global warming is a fact, take a look at Washington D.C. over the last few days. Find out the last time there was this much snow, as well as such low temperatures.

I think that reporters have been on the streets of D.C. for the last two days looking for Mr. Gore, but as usual when it's snowing he can't be found (that's why he's never been to Canada). How many times are politicians going to try and sell us the garbage of global worming.

Milk, Bread, Post-its, and Donald Trump.

I was perusing Al Gores' latest invention the "World Wide Web", and I came across an article about Sarah Palins' hand. I'm not joking there are numerous problems affecting our nation today, and the most pressing matter in some areas of government was where Sarah Palin writes reminders. Some people use Crackberries, some people use Post-Its, and others use their hands. For me it all depends on what's available, I have my iPhone (evil capitalist Apple company sucked me in), I have a small notepad, and the one thing that is always with me? MY HAND! If all else fails, I have my awesome hand. They are useful for many things. Waving at the police officer after he pulls me over, shaking hands with people I've just met, shoving food in my mouth at an alarming rate, and taking notes. The good thing about them is that unless I'm involved in some freak industrial accident, they'll always be there. I can't misplace them, the battery can't die, and they can't lose their stickiness because it got fuzz on the strip.

I got slightly off topic for a minute, SORRY, allow me to digress. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs criticized Mrs. Palin for using her hand for notes, citing that someone who so heavily commented on President Obamas' use of the teleprompter has no business using notes. If I'm not mistaken the former governor gives most if not all of her speeches WITHOUT NOTES, period. This is a radical departure from our President who cannot function without said speech making device. If in fact she decided that there was something so vital that she wanted to get it perfect, who are you to criticize her method?

He accidently showed the interviewer the shopping list that he so "slyly" wrote on his hand. The list was Milk, Bread Eggs, Hope, and Change. I can only assume that the first three were things that his wife told him to pick up after leaving work for the day. This is no big deal as we've all had to go pick something up from the store. As I stated before, maybe he ran out of Post-Its, maybe his Crackberry battery died, who am I to judge when his hand was obviously the only thing available? The part of the list that got me though was the Hope and Change.

Isn't that what America voted for in 2008? Didn't that already come to the White House? Why would you have to go shopping for it? Is it something that he feels he isn't getting in his current position and needs to look elsewhere, or did his wife tell him to pick those up at the store as well? Hope that you get home on time for once or you lose your TV privileges for a week. Change your attitude Mister or I'll be forced to take away your X-Box for the month. What was he thinking? The American public currently has very little Hope that anything will Change in Washington. That is other than the amount of money thrown away on national parks on the island of St. Croix, and other projects that do absolutely nothing to stimulate are rapidly shrinking economy and job market. BLAH!!!

If there was some sort of political point to be made, I think that Mrs. Palin actually got the better point across without even trying to. She managed to make Liberals point out, that Liberals are raging idiots that spend too much time worrying about how she remembers things (if she had used a string around her finger she would have been criticized for poor fashion accessories), and not enough time worrying about things that the American public want taken care of . We don't want to hear campaign slogans again (I've never liked them), we want to see results from you. We want results on things like unemployment, a soaring deficit, steroids in baseball, and most importantly whether or not Trumps' comb-over should be outlawed in the 48 contiguous states (Hawaii and Alaska already have laws in the works).

Until next time please ponder one of the questions that helps me guide my life.

"Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"

Will science ever prove…

The Beginning according to Science

1 In the beginning was the Puddle, and the Puddle was of Pre-animate biological mass, and the Pre-animate biological mass was Goo.
2 The same was in the beginning with Goo.
3 All things were made by Goo; and without Goo was not anything made that was made.
4 In Goo was life; and the life was the spontaneous splicing of nitrogen molecules, which came from the Big Bang1, with the Puddle to form single celled organisms that evolved into the plants and animals we know and love today.

4 1 LeMaitre 1:1 At some point in fininte time approximately 13 billion years ago, a primordial hot and dense condition has continually expanded into the universe that we know today.

I know some people might get slightly miffed that I used The Gospel of John as a template for the opening of this post. I apologize to you profusely, as my intent is only to show how ridiculous I believe the claims of “modern science” to be.

This all stems from Global Warming debates and Evolution. I am constantly amazed that people hold to these THEORIES as fact when there is no evidence to support their claims. Please indulge me and let me explain how my “uneducated” mind sees these theories individually.

I’ll start with Global warming.

We’re “heating up the world” with our vehicle emissions, uncontrolled cow flatulence (google cow flatulence tax in NY), and overall “carbon footprint”. Tracking weather patterns over the last 100 years (that’s 100 out of the approximately 13 BILLION years) show that temperatures around the globe have increased a total of 1.330 F +/- 0.320  over the last 100 years. REALLY???? 1 degree over 100 years is cause for alarm??? At that rate Antarctica would become a tropical paradise in about 130 CENTURIES! That is a REALLY long time (-570 F to 800 F that’s 130 deg diff, not to insult your intelligence). How do they know what the average oceanic temperature was back when “cavemen” existed? Does Doc Browns’ DeLorean actually exist? I doubt both of those things are the case. If you really believe that the Earth has been around for 13 Billion years, you will never be able to convince people that 1 Century holds enough data to prove your theory that the earth is heating up to the point where I should trade my 10 mpg Jeep for a Toyota Prius with brake problems just to give us 15 more minutes at 700 instead of 70.00000000000000000000000000010.

The conversation about earth warming up to the point of extinction for all beings brings me to my second topic, evolution. I will try and keep it short and sweet, as I know staring the computer screen in rapt appreciation of my dazzling intellect can be somewhat detrimental to your occular health (that’s 25 cent word, you can send your donations through pay-pal). If in fact the world is heating up, why should we care? According to Darwinism the strongest will survive the changing conditions of the earth. Some of us will evolve heat dissipaters and water retention flaps to enable us to live in the increased temperatures on what small land masses are left; while the rest will take to living in and out of the water like Kevin Costner in Waterworld (don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about, that movie is a Classic). You can actually see the changes staring to take place, as you get older your body is already developing pockets for catching fluids all over the place, and you thought they were non-functional “wrinkles”.

All in all I really hope that scientists will stop trying to convince me of what happened in the past (The Bible spells it out rather well), and start looking to use their God-given skills and talents to solving REAL problems of the future. Like curing cancer, proving SPAM is edible, and most importantly solving the formula for a successful Sitcom (Seinfeld wasn’t really “about” anything).

As the great thespian Roy Scheider once said in the classic American film Jaws, which should not have lost the Oscar to that hack job One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (what does that even mean?).

“You’re gonna need a bigger boat!”…

New experience

My wife was telling me the other day that I should create a blog, my response was something like "why would I do that???" I mean honestly, what would I have to say to the internet where no-one is really listening? Blog, how ludicrous!!

Fast forward through the last few days and I've constantly been disappointed in what is happening in our country and our world. People water boarding their own children, kids clothes that so closely resemble "unmentionables" that even Ms. Perez Hilton thinks it's offensive (Former Ms. California might find that humorous), and just all around stupidity is pervasive in our world.

This prompted me to ask my wife Tawna to help design a blog this evening. I don't have a whole lot to say this evening about all these things as we're establishing format and getting things ready to look "hip and trendy". Well maybe not hip or trendy, but at least it will look like me. AAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I know that's a scary thought)

Be back soon.
